Roger Williams Park Zoo Camp

Roger Williams Park Zoo offers a ten week environmental education summer camp for ages 4-13. Campers explore the natural world, learn about animals and their habitats, and how they can make a difference. Campers will participate in crafts, activities, games, camp songs, and more all revolving around the environment! ZooCamp has three different programs- Tadpole Academy for ages 4 & 5, Summer Adventures for ages 6-10, and Conservation Heroes for ages 11-13. For teens older than 13, apply to be a Counselor-in-training and spend the summer learning leadership skills, playing in camp, and gaining volunteer hours. Camp takes place right at the zoo, in a space set aside just for campers! Zoo tours are a must and some of our animals will come right into the classroom to meet our camp friends. By participating in Roger Williams Park ZooCamp, campers will become an environmental steward, make great friends, and leave with amazing memories.

Roger Williams Park Zoo and Carousel Village is a nonprofit organization whose mission “as leaders in conservation and animal care, we create engaging experiences that empower guests to join us in conserving wildlife and wild places”. Through creating profound experiences, we strive to create an atmosphere with anyone of any ability can learn about the environment, conservation, or even about social issues. By coming to Roger Williams Park Zoo, a guest can either learn on their own through interpretive graphics, enjoy an afternoon among animals, or come to a structured program through the Education Department. As our programs grow, Roger Williams Park Zoo strives to be an inclusive environment; welcoming people of all abilities and ages to enjoy a day out with their friends and family or learn something new about how to participate in conservation. When a guest leaves the zoo, we want to impart with them a fun experience that they can share with others and instill hope that they can make a difference for wild places and wild animals.
